Colletta Jan Mcguire

COLLETTA JAN FELCHAK McGUIRE was born July 10, 1951, in Bellville, Texas, the daughter of Thaddeaus Joseph and Monica Geraldine Spence Felchak. She grew up and attended school in Bellville. After graduating from Bellville High School, Jan attended St. Edwards University in Austin, graduating with a Bachelor's degree. She then earned her Masters Degree from Our Lady of the Lake University. Jan was united in marriage to David McGuire in April 1995, in Longview, Texas. They made their home in San Antonio, Texas where Jan enjoyed her role as a homemaker. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she enjoyed bird watching, crafts, cooking and collecting things. After being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in May 2008, she devoted her last days to exploring all possible means to get well. Jan passed peacefully at her home with her sisters, and daughter by her side Saturday, October 23, 2010, at the age of 59. She is survived by HER HUSBAND: David McGuire of San Antonio; CHILDREN: Cary Griffin, and Cody Alexander and her husband, Jayson, all of San Antonio, Shahn McGuire of Washington and Sam McGuire Pruett and her husband, Chris, of New Mexico; GRANDCHILDREN: Gage Griffin, Abigail Griffin, Parker Alexander, Caden Alexander, Duncan Fabri, Brian Pruett and Mitchell Pruett. She is also survived by her SISTERS: Joy Pipes and her husband, Larry, of Henderson and Cody Hughey and her husband, Charlie, of Bellville; BROTHERS: Buddy Felchak and his wife, Shirley, of Katy, and Andy Felchak and Cathy of Bellville; AUNT: Bea Jackson of Liverpool, TX; and numerous other family members and dear friends. Jan was preceded in death by her parents, T.J. and Geraldine Felchak, one brother, Tiny Felchak, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Golda McGuire. Jan "Nana" will be missed by all.
