Carol Sue Williford

CAROL DOWNEY WILLIFORD passed away August 11, 2010, at her home in Waller County, Texas. Carol was born in Ennis, Texas to Henry and Ruby McCathern Downey on April 4, 1947, graduated from Ennis High School in in 1965 and Sam Houston State University in 1969. Carol began her thirty-year teaching career at Ennis High School for four years, seven at Royal Middle and High School and nineteen at Katy High School. She taught English, Economics and Government before retiring in 2002. Carol married John Williford in 1975. They made their home in the Pattison area where they have been members of the Pattison United Methodist Church. Carol is survived by her husband of 35 years; sister Betty Guettermann and husband, Harland, their daughter Lori Guettermann, daughter Lynn Olson and husband Chris, daughter Lisa Hanel and husband Mark, and their sons Jaxson and Austin. Survivors also include her mother-in-law Mary Tom Williford, sisters-in-law Bonnie Meine, Martha Jorgensen and husband Bill, and their children, Leah, Will and Kay, sisters-in-law Judy Pollard, Patty Woods and husband Des, and brother-in-law Sonny Pollard.
