Patricia R. Krawietz

August 16, 1929 — May 22, 2010

PATRICIA RUTH KRAWIETZ was born August 16, 1929, to Dionysius and Pauline Kowalik Krawietz in Falls City, Texas. She grew up and attended school in Falls City and graduated from Karnes City High School. At fifteen, Patsy was given money to enroll at Incarnate Word College. She travelled to San Antonio on the bus and enrolled in art school instead. After doing so, she was afraid to come home and tell her parents. But she finally confessed and her parents decided if she was brave enough to do that on her own, she'd do fine in art school, and she loved going there. Patsy was an artist and made her living drawing fashion clothing ads for many years for various department stores. She loved to come to Pattison to visit with her family and to take her niece and nephews to the Monaville Grocery for candy and soft drinks, and they couldn't wait for her visits. After Patsy retired in 1989, she made her home with her sister, Carol, and her husband, Charlie, and her namesake dog, Possum Ruth. She passed away Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital at the age of 80. She is survived by her BROTHER: Dennis Krawietz of Midland, Texas; SISTER: Carol Swize and her husband, Charlie, of Pattison; SISTER-IN-LAW: Joan Krawietz of Sherman, Texas; NIECES AND NEPHEWS: Dennis and Jean Krawietz, Kenneth Krawietz, Kathy and Steve Widner, Tom and Sherry Krawietz, Patsy and Doug Hooner, Carolyn and Russell Freeman, Paul Krawietz, Martha Swize and David Finkelstein, Patrick Swize, Robert and Sharon Swize, Bill and Kim Swize and Michael Swize. Patsy was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and one nephew. Patsy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and enjoyed Father David's Holy Hour and the Spanish Mass. She spoke English, Polish and Spanish, and loved to travel when funds were available. She was always happy when she had a "good hair day," and had rollers in her hair when she died. Patsy was intelligent, talented, humerous, generous, kind and a gentle person. She will be missed by her family and friends. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Bereavement Fund, P.O. Box 300, Pattison, TX 774166.
