Shirley Mahon

SHIRLEY FOREMAN MAHON, wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother and teacher, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 11, 2010. She was born February 11, 1952, in Pasadena, Texas to A.J. and Agnes McGee Foreman. After graduating from Luling High School in 1970, she attended Sam Houston State University. On July 17, 1971, she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Cliff Mahon, in Luling, Texas. Shortly thereafter, they moved to College Station, Texas. Upon Cliff's graduation from Texas A&M, they moved to Crockett, Texas where Shirley continued her education at Sam Houston State University. She received a bachelor's degree in 1975, in Home Economics Education and was also a member of the Alpha Chi Fraternity. After graduation, Shirley and Cliff moved to Bellville where Shirley began a teaching career at St. Mary's Episcopal Day School and Bellville High School until 1980. During that time, she became a mother of two children and returned to teaching in 1985. Shirley has continued to educate the minds of our young children in kindergarten and pre-k at Maggie B. Selman Elementary School in Sealy, Texas for the past 25 years. She has taught grandmothers, mothers, and their children, and enriched the lives and touched the hearts of generations. Shirley is survived by her LOVING HUSBAND OF 38 YEARS: Cliff Mahon; and THEIR CHILDREN: Blake Mahon and wife, Ella of Houston and Brooke Mahon Longoria and daughter, Sadie McGee Longoria of Bellville. She is also survived by her MOTHER: Agnes McGee Foreman; and her TWO BROTHERS: Ricky and Gary Foreman; all of Luling, SISTERS-IN-LAW: Sarah Wade and husband, John of Sonora, and Nina Koenig and husband, Charles of La Vernia; NIECES: Johnna Wade of Kerrville, Jenna Davis and husband, P.J. of Dallas; NEPHEWS: Jarred Koenig of Tyler, Gary Foreman, Jr., Charlie Foreman, Joseph Foreman, Travis Foreman and Trey Foreman; all of Luling. She was preceded in death by her father, A.J. Foreman, father-in-law, Ernest Clifton Mahon, Jr. and mother-in-law, Dorothy Jane Mahon.
