Cleveland Lee "Buck" Fergeson

CLEVELAND LEE "BUCK" FERGESON was born March 1, 1930, in Garrison, TX, the son of C.D. and Myrtle Parrot Fergeson. He grew up and attended school in Garrison until he was 12 years old. He then moved to Houston, TX, and finished school. After high school he rode bulls and worked in the oilfield until he was 27. Buck then went on to work for Electro Tech, a division of Mandrel Industries, for many years until he became the vice president of North American Fabricators. He also worked for the Austin County Appraisal District. Members of the Bellville United Methodist Church, Buck and Jo Ann where united in marriage in 1983. They made their home in Bellville where he then pursued his dream of opening Buck Fergeson Originals on the square in 1990. Buck was a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. For over 17 years, he made the bronze trophies for the winners of several events of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He was also on the horsepitality committee. Buck was inducted into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame for Bull Riding in 2001. He passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010, in Bellville at the age of 79. He is survived by his LOVING WIFE: Jo Ann Fergeson of Bellville; CHILDREN: Jerry Fergeson of Houston, Jimmy "Bubba" Fergeson of Houston, James Jones and his wife, Karen, of Bellville, Peggy Holloway and her husband, Kyle, of Bellville, and Kerri Byler and her husband, Bill, of Bellville; GRANDCHILDREN: Samantha Fergeson, Sabrina Fergeson, Josh Fergeson, Tyler Jones, Kyndal Jones, Jenna Jones, Tye Holloway, Shelby Holloway, Brenna Byler, Lynette Byler, Will Byler, Angela Wagner and her children, Blake and Beckham Wagner; SISTER: Kathryn Tracey and her husband, Jim, of Houston and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his EXTENDED FAMILY: Steve, Wendy and Spencer Honeycutt, Katherine Burts, Fred Simon, Steve and Ariana Simon, Andy and Gwyn Childress; THE GIRLS OF BUCK FERGESON ORIGINALS: Sarah Peschel, Kris Schultz, Tami Seay, Cayla Alonso, Meghan Sandavol, Zena Lyth and Chelsea Binford; CAREGIVERS: La Tonya Carter, Josie Hart, Ms. Lupe, Ramona Portis, Diane Houston, Julie Supak, Mrs. Martha, Janice Croft of Texas Home Health; and many other family and dear friends. Buck was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Cheryl Fergeson, in 1980, Sylvia Fergeson and Jeneanne Lancaster.
