Velma Faye Bartlett

Velma Faye Horner Bartlett was born February 10, 1921 to James Horner and Matilda Hagman Horner in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.  Velma graduated from high school, attended a beauty college and later a business college.Velma married Fred Bartlett on December 30, 1945 after his return from military service in Europe in World War II.Their only son Phil was born on October 24th in 1947.The family lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Fred's work eventually brought them to Houston, Texas.  Velma worked for several businesses as a secretary and her last 12 years working was the administrative assistant to the Hospital Administrator of Memorial Hospital, Southwest.  After Velma retired, she volunteered at hospitals in Irving, Humble and Bellville.Velma was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, a brother and her beloved husband Fred.  She is survived by her son Phil Bartlett and her daughter in law Donna Eads Bartlett who reside in Bellville.Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the: Bellville United Methodist Church, P.O.
