Hilda Kathryn Mcjunkin

Hilda Kathryn McJunkin, 65, passed away on December 9, 2016, at her residence in Houston, Texas.   Hilda was born on April 12, 1951, in Wharton, Texas to Gilbert and Georgia Frances (Walker) Meier.  She grew up and worked alongside her father and siblings in the family-owned business, Meier’s Fulshear Farms, as a book keeper and graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School.  Hilda briefly attended Texas A&M University to study Mathematics before she discovered her vocational calling and became a Registered Nurse after earning her Associates Degree from Brazosport College.   On February 22, 1974, Hilda married Samuel McJunkin, in Fulshear, Texas, and raised three children together.  Hilda lived out her life’s passion to take care of others over her 30 year career as a labor & delivery nurse where she celebrated new life each day.  In retirement, she continued to serve her community through her church.   Hilda was preceded in death by her parents.   She is survived by her husband: Samuel McJunkin, of Houston, Texas; daughter: Georgia Frances McJunkin, Houston, Texas; sons: Samuel McJunkin and his wife, Mary, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jonathan McJunkin and his wife, Crystal, of New Braunfels, Texas; sisters: Terry Wright and her husband, Michael, of Katy, Texas, Penelope Tucker and her husband, Boyce, of Fulshear, Texas; brother: Herc Meier and his wife, Vickie, of Fulshear, Texas; grandchildren: Skylar, Johnny, Joshua, and Finn; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
