BRYAN WAYNE ELPS, 31, of Sealy, Texas, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017, in Brenham, Texas. He was born August 27, 1985, the son of Mark R. and Paula (Johnson) Elps. Bryan grew up and attended schools in the Odem area, before graduating from Odem High School. After high school, he received two Associates Degrees, one, from ITT Technical Institute, in Houston and the other from Blinn College. Bryan excelled in Math and Science and had designed a rocket that is presently displayed in a Blinn College trophy case. He was employed as a Civil Engineer with a surveying company. In his past time, Bryan enjoyed playing computer games and pool; he also enjoyed being outdoors on a motorcycle, boating and sailing. Bryan was a member of the Boy Scouts of America in Sinton. Bryan is survived by his daughter: Kelsey Jean Perthuis of Texas City; parents: Mark R. and Paula Elps of Sealy; sister: Crystal Lynn Nelson and her husband, Martin, of Tucson, Arizona; aunts and uncles: Joe and Bonnie Johnson of Arlington, Sheree and Marvin Glover, John Roy and Clarissa Johnson, all of Corpus Christi, Glenn Roy and Paula Elps of League City and Tanasha Roberts of Cleveland, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his niece.
