Elizabeth Ann "Annie" Smith

July 5, 1957 — February 7, 2017

ELIZABETH ANN GUTZLER SMITH (Annie), 59, of Bellville, Texas, went to be with her Lord after a long and courageous battle with cancer Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at home in the arms of her loving family. She was born July 5, 1957, in Hudson, Wisconsin, the daughter of Philip Howard and Phyllis Louise (Simon) Gutzler.  Annie grew up in River Falls, Wisconsin, where she attended River Falls Elementary. Later, her family moved to Dallas, Texas where she graduated from Kimball High School, later moving to College Station to attend Texas A&M where she met the love of her life Charlie Smith. The two were united in marriage on October 6, 1984, in Bellville, Texas. Annie was a loving wife, mother, and beautiful encourager to everyone she met. She dearly loved the Lord, her family, her friends and her animals.  Annie had a true servants heart and exuded genuine love and joy in everything she did. She was an Aggie Mom, School Volunteer, Girl Scout Leader, CBS Leader and lover of life. She is survived by her husband of over 32 years: Charles H. Smith of Bellville; son: Austin H. Smith of College Station; daughter: Jessica Ann Smith and her fiancé, Pranesh Nandagopal, of Australia; brother: John Gutzler and his wife, Sarah Harte, of San Antonio; sisters: Mary Gutzler Dzminski of Bellville, and Barbara Altobelli and her husband, Michael, of Katy, along with numerous nieces, nephews and devoted friends. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Phyllis Gutzler, and brother, Philip Gutzler.Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to either:   First Baptist Church 504 East Strauss Street Bellville, Texas 77418,   Traditions Health Care Hospice 1862 Rock Prairie, Suite 202 College Station, Texas 77845   or to the charity of their choice
