Glenn Alan Davis

GLENN ALAN DAVIS, 69, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017, from complications of heart surgery.  He was born October 16, 1947, in Bellville, Texas, the son of B.B. and Inez (Frank) Davis. Glenn was baptized on December 23, 1947, and confirmed on April 15, 1962, at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville.   He grew up and attended schools in the Bellville area. During his high school years, Glenn was an avid sportsman. He played baseball and golf. After high school, Glenn was employed with J&S Water Well Service, owned by George Johnson and Ray Stephens. He was drafted into the United States Army. He served his country and was stationed in Oklahoma and Germany, until he was honorably discharged. Upon returning home from the service, Glenn went back to work for J&S. Later, Glenn owned and operated Bellville Water Well Service.  In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid golf player. Glenn was a quick and witty thinker who had many friends. He had a love for dogs, especially his faithful companion, Rocky.  Glenn is survived by his brother: Mike Davis and his wife, Ann, of Bellville; sister: Nancy Swearingen of Sealy; along with nieces, nephews, dear family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his, parents, B.B. and Inez Davis, and brother-in-law, Calvin Swearingen.  The family would like to express a heartfelt “THANK YOU” to Compassionate Care Hospice and Life Changes Home Care, for their wonderful service and Mr. Bill Farrell, Veterans Service Officer.  Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to either: Compassionate Care Hospice3833 South Texas Avenue, Suite 200Bryan, Texas 77802 or to the charity of their choice
