Sherry Coker Luhn

SHERRY DIANE (COKER) LUHN, 66, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017, in Houston, Texas.  She was born February 10, 1951, in Bellville, Texas, the daughter of L.T. Coker and Anita (Michaelis) Coker.  Sherry grew up and attended schools in the Bellville area, graduating from Bellville High School, in 1969.  After cosmetology school, she worked many of years at Avis's beauty shop and also at Sherrie's House of Beauty.  She was also a substitute teacher in Bellville. For the past 20 plus years, Sherry had a real passion for her job as a pharmacy clerk at Walter’s Pharmacy in Bellville.  Sherry was united in marriage to Fred Luhn, on December 20, 1969, in Bellville. She was an active member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville.  She loved attending the Saturday evening service, assisting the pastors and listening to the gospel choir. She also was a member of the bell choir for many years. Sherry biggest hobby was spending time with her grandchildren and family.  She also enjoyed traveling with friends, baking and cooking for others, talking on the phone and surfing the internet, for anything.   She loved watching Bellville Brahmanette volleyball. She is survived by her husband: Fred Luhn of Bellville; daughter: Jill Carley and her husband, Tommy, of Cypress; son Greg Luhn and his girlfriend, Brenda, of Sealy; grandchildren: Jackson and Kathryn Carley, both of Cypress; sister-in-law: Rosie Luhn of Bellville; nieces: Laurie Haseltine and her family of Katy and Shawna Svinky and her family of Bellville.  Sherry is also survived by her special friends/caregivers: Cersie Perez and Carmen Flores.
