DELORES BRANDYBURG, 80, of Brookshire, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017, in Houston. Delores was born May 30, 1936, in Pattison, Texas. The daughter of Mayshack Brandyburg and Louise (Brown) Brandyburg, she grew up in Pattison and attend the Clemons School and Ralph Bunch High School. Delores made her home in the Brookshire/Pattison area her entire life and was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Pattison where she confessed to Christ at a young age and served as choir director, pianist and secretary/treasurer. During her working years, she was employed as a secretary for Broussard Dental Supply. Delores enjoyed sewing and was a talented seamstress. She also loved gardening, reading and traveling. While her son, Jerryl, was in the military, Delores loved to visit him wherever he was stationed. She was a real grandmother who couldn’t say no to her grandkids. Delores wasn’t your average person. She opened her home to many in need of shelter over the years. If you showed up during dinner you could be sure you would be offered a meal. God loves a cheerful giver and that was something she truly believed. Delores had an unwavering trust in God. She was what we call a “praying grandmother”. She leaves behind her sons: Larry Brandyberg of Brookshire, Jerryl Brandyberg and his wife, Cheryl, of San Antonio; and 6 grandchildren: Tawana Brandyberg, Romeka Breaux, Nakia Johnson, Janice Wade Haynes and her husband, Robert, Jerryl A. Brandyberg, II and his fiancée, Shauna Teague, Temeka N. Brandyberg and her fiancée, Eric Felton, of Keller Texas; eight great grandchildren; her sister: Betty Louise and Loy Powell of Brookshire; and many other relatives and friends. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Dorothy Brandyberg, and her brothers ,Gene Brandyburg and Lawrence Brandyberg ,and her son, Ronnie (Button) Brandyberg.
