Debra Lynn Blankinship

DEBRA LYNN BLANKINSHIP, 65, of Sealy, Texas, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at her home. She was born September 3, 1952, in Hobbs, New Mexico, the daughter of William Arcenaux and Sylvia Myrleen Bristow Goodrum. Debra grew up and attended schools in the Hobbs area.  After high school, she attended college.  Debra was employed as a Commercial Lines Insurance Accountant Manager with Brady, Chapman, Holland and Associates.  She made a living as a dog handler, handling primarily Dobermans. Debra bred, trained and showed Dobermans all of the United State.  First Homebred Doberman Champion, Ace, was in the top 20 two years in a row and was All Breed Best of Show.  In her later years, Debra bought forty-two acres and started raising cattle.  The herd started with ten head and grew to thirty.  She enjoyed feeding, training and tending to her cattle. Debra is survived by her husband: Steven Lee Blankinship; step daughter: Callie Annette Urbina and her husband, John Urbina; step son: Jeffrey Scott Blankinship; grandson: Aiden David Urbina; brothers: William Steven Goodrum and his wife Lillian Marlene and Mark Timothy Goodrum and his wife, Jennifer; nieces: Stephanie Strother and her husband, Matt, Katie Goodrum and Sabrina Goodrum; nephews: Michael Goodrum and Ryan Goodrum; great niece: Aven Goodrum; great nephew: Teagan Goodrum. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sylvia Goodrum, aunt, Lanette McClain and uncle, Howard McClain
