Kenneth Joseph Hymel November 16, 1944 - March 11, 2017 Kenneth Joseph Hymel, 72, of Bellville, Texas, formerly of Sugar Land, Texas, died March 11, 2017 after a valiant battle with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), in the company of family and loved ones. Kenneth was born November 16, 1944 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Rita and Dumas Hymel. He attended Destrehan High School in Destrehan, Louisiana, and continued his education at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, graduating in 1969 with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering. He used his skill in electrical engineering to contribute to the rebuilding of New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Kenneth was a loving and caring father, and delighted in spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed anything LSU, coaching his son's youth baseball teams, cooking, dancing, crawfish boils, bowling, and entertaining at his home. He is survived by his wife Judy Hymel; his children Erin and Chad (Fiancé Corrinne) and their mother, his former spouse, Carol Hymel. Additionally, he is also survived by his step-daughters Jennifer Wisniewski (Peter) and Allison Lee (Daniel); grandchildren Grant, Curtis, and Adam; mother Rita Landeche Hymel; siblings Ralph Hymel (Marilyn), James Hymel (Kathy), Helen H. Banquer (Dennis), Judy H. Davis, Clyde Hymel (Fiancé Sara), Theresa H. Naff (Sam), and many more special nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Kenneth was preceded in death by his father Dumas Vincent Hymel. In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to Bellville United Methodist Church or Compassionate Care of Bryan, Texas in memory of Kenneth.
