Annie G. Johnson, 97, of Fulshear, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024, in Katy, Texas. She was born August 5, 1927, in Center Point, Arkansas to Sam and Thora Reese. Annie grew up in Dierks, Arkansas where she played basketball and golf at Dierks High School. She spent most of her adult life in Texas where she and Bruce raised their daughters of whom they were most proud. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the loves of her life and she loved spending time with them. Annie was an avid sports enthusiast never missing a chance to enjoy any game involving the Rockets, Astros, Texans, golf game, or her most favorite the Arkansas Razorbacks. Her grandfather and great grandfather, both Church of Christ preachers, had a profound influence in her spiritual upbringing. Everyone that met Annie instantly loved her and her love for life. She is survived by her children: Barbara Bigelow and husband Chuck of Columbus, Ms., Deborah Featherston and husband Robert of Brenham, Tx., Pamela Speer and husband Herman of Fulshear, Tx, and Sister-n-law Pat Reese of Arlington, Tx.; Grandchildren: Stuart Featherston of Mansfield, Tx, Kyle Featherston and wife Jill of Mansfield, Tx, and Mollie Grote and husband William of Brenham, Tx.; Great Grandchildren: Alex, Cullen, Rory, and Ainsley; along with several nieces and nephews. Also, her fur babies Oliver and Missy who will miss their daily 10:00 AM cookies. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Thora Reese; husband Bruce Johnson; Sisters: Bobbie, Maizie, Margaret, and Mary Sue; Brothers: Sam Jr. and Douglas Ray. Everyone is invited to join the family and share their memories of Annie at Orlando’s Pizza in Brookshire after the graveside service.
