Beatrice Alene (Andrews) Bock August 22, 1935 - December 24, 2017Alene found her way home on December 24th, 2017. She joins her Husband, Donald George Bock, her Mother, Mattie Beatrice (Tate) Andrews, her Father, Robert Curtis Andrews, her Brother, John Curtis Andrews and many other friends and family members who will welcome her to the kingdom of heaven.Alene is survived by her sister, Nancy and, her husband, Phil Johnson, her children and their spouses, Beatrice Anne Sipes, Robert and Lynda Bock and Donald and Ruby Bock, her Grandchildren, Terri, Stacy, Robin, Dalton, Kylie, Colton and Cody, her Great Grandchildren, Mark, Jacob, Emma, Dallas, Ava, Ziegen, Brayden, Keeleigh and McKinlee, her Great Great Grandson, Zachary and many, many other family members and friends. We cannot begin to express how very grateful we are to Alene's church home and family at Bear Creek Baptist Church. Pastor Dave was a friend of the family before Alene was widowed in 2014. When Alene came to stay with her daughter in Cypress she was quick to move her letter to Bear Creek Baptist Church. She truly enjoyed her Sunday School Class, the Church outings and the Potluck dinners. She took her responsibility as a Prayer Warrior very seriously, without knowing that her Prayer Warriors would, one day soon, be offering their prayers for her. Pastor David and B.J. Welch have stayed in touch throughout Alene's extended illness. They have visited, prayed and offered encouragement, support and hope when it was most needed. We have felt the presence of Bear Creek Baptist Church's Prayer Warriors in the depths of our souls.Alene was a gifted performer who sang her first solo at Immanuel Baptist Church of El Dorado Arkansas. She was just four years old. She participated in the church choir for many years, and later, with the help and encouragement of her husband and manager, Don "Sauerbratten" Bock, she also performed professionally. She was most proud of her many years as the Strolling Minstrel at the Texas Renaissance Festival, her performance at the opening of the Witte Museum in San Antonio, her time performing at the Driftwood Barn and, most recently, her time performing with Heartstrings. There are stories to tell of times she was performing at Sally Jo's Barbecue and, later, at Billy's House of Guitars.Alene (Mom) hasn't been able to speak since her accident December 10th, of 2015. But, even without words, she has managed to make new friends and encourage others with her smiles, her expressions and, until recently, what had become her go to move, a thumbs up. Her beautiful voice and sweet smile will be sorely missed.Alene will be buried beside her husband at Houston National Cemetery at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive in Houston, Texas.A Memorial Service will be held for Alene (Mom) at Bear Creek Church, 5901 N Fry Road, Katy, Texas 77449 on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018 at 2 PM. The family will receive visitors after the service at the church.
