BENNIE HERMAN GIEBEL, 96, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015, in Brenham, Texas. Bennie was born March 27, 1919, in Industry, Texas, the son of George and Pauline Roski Giebel. He grew up and attended schools in the West End area. Bennie enlisted in the United States Army on November 21, 1942 and served his county in World War II, before being Honorably Discharged on October 22, 1945. He was a farmer by trade and enjoyed working with his cattle. He also enjoyed watching his great nieces and nephews showing swine at the Austin County Fair. Bennie was a member of the Shelby American Legion Post 602. He is survived by his NIECE: Cindy Johnson and her husband, Jerral, of Bellville; NEPHEWS: Greg Giebel and his wife, Karen, of Bellville and Dan Giebel of Temple; GREAT NIECES: Carissa Johnson, Megan Giebel and Maddie Giebel; GREAT NEPHEWS: Jerrad Johnson and Gavin Giebel; and numerous other family. Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, George and Pauline Giebel, brothers, Oly, LeRoy, Clarence and Dennis Giebel.
