BERNARDO SALAZAR LEMOS, 69, longtime Brookshire resident, passed away suddenly Tuesday, January 2, 2018, in Katy. Bernard was born November 14, 1948, in Spade, Texas, the son of Marcos and Geneva (Salazar) Lemos. His early childhood years were spent in Fulshear, Texas before he and his family moved to Brookshire in the 1950’s. Bernard married Eva Rodriquez on January 15, 1971, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brookshire. They have made their home in Brookshire and have been members of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Bernard was employed as a machinist at M & J Valve before his retirement. An avid sports fan, Bernard also liked antique cars, working in his garden and he loved his pets. He was also a huge Elvis Presley fan. Bernard is survived by his wife of almost 47 years: Eva (Rodriguez) Lemos of Brookshire; four daughters: Rhonda Lemos of Katy, Tammy Golden and her husband, Gary, also of Katy, Carrie Billasano and her husband, Lupe, of Brookshire, and Stacy Tijerina, also of Brookshire; and grandchildren: Maxwell, Kelsey, Carmen and Jake Billasano, Haley, Christopher and Nicholas Tijerina, and Candace, Casey and Garrett Golden. He is also survived by his sisters: Delfina Lerma, Bisenta Rodriquez, Betty Crawford, and Hortense Fluitt; brothers: Joe Lemos, Ricky Lemos and Tony Lemos; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, Marcos and Geneva Lemos, two brothers, Marcos Lemos and Manuel Reyna, and one sister, Guadalupe Lemos.
