BETTY ANN AMODIE COLLIER passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011, in Katy, Texas at the age of 76, after a courageous 2-year battle with breast cancer. Betty was born May 11, 1935, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The daughter of Joseph and Katherine Read Amodie, she grew up and attended school in Pawtucket. In the 70's, she moved to Stafford, Texas where she was employed by Texas Instruments. Betty later moved to Richmond, Texas. A hard worker all her life, Betty retired from Sercel in 2009. She enjoyed her position as manufacturing supervisor at Texas Instruments, Haliburton and then Sercel, and was admired by her co-workers. Betty loved her pets and always enjoyed tending to her menagerie of dogs, cats and birds. Her heart was always open to those around her, and she will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Betty is survived by her FIVE CHILDREN: Deborah Ballard and her husband, Gary, of Williamsburg, Virginia, Catherine Sides and her husband, Jim, of Austin, Mary Drake-Gianni and her husband, Randy, of Phoenix, Arizona, Michael Robitaille and his wife, Paula, of Seekonk, Massachusetts, and Adriane DeVries and her husband, Tim, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 10 GRANDCHILDREN; DEAR FRIEND: Donna Peterek of Brookshire; the entire Peterek family; and many other dear friends and relatives.
