Beverly June (Reynolds) Hagemann
Mom was known in our family as “The Church Lady” and lived a life that reflected her faith. A member of Christ Lutheran Church in Pattison, she was always looking up recipes for the next potluck. (She’d never bring something store bought!) She loved being a part of the women’s ministry there (LWML). Just like our Memaw (her mom), Mom taught children’s Sunday School and helped in the kitchen at VBS. She was a faithful reader of her daily devotional, Portals of Prayer, and when she started getting sick, she kept repeating one lesson: “When I go, remind everyone that I was a child of God.”
Mom had other special interests, too. She spent years working for Uncle Ben’s Rice and the stories from her commutes were legendary. Home and holiday decorating were always in the works; you could tell by the number of Amazon deliveries. She loved all animals, but cats were her spirit animal, and she lived with one to the end of her days. She held the fire department in high regard in support of her son. Camping was a favorite hobby of hers in younger days, but in older years, her daughters turned her into an Astros fan. When going to church in person became difficult for her, she watched church with her granddaughter.
Beverly June Reynolds Hagemann was born on June 17, 1936, in Dallas, TX, to Everett and Mildred Reynolds (both buried not far from where she’ll be laid to rest at Memorial Oaks in Houston). She had one younger brother, Robert, who died as an infant. Her husband, Jerry Hagemann, went to God years ago and has been patiently waiting for her arrival. Her children are Stephanie Caro (Steve), Kim Wilson, and Chris Wilson (Cindy). Her granddaughter is Monica Castleman, and her step-grandchildren are Ashley Hamilton Wingo and Michael Hamilton (Mom loved being a Nana). She died in Katy, TX (her home for 50+ years) on Wed., Sept. 11, 2024, after a short illness.
Instead of sending flowers, Mom’s life will be honored if you gave in her name to either serving children’s ministry: https://christlutheranchurchpattison.org/donate-online/ or to Cat Haven, a local cat rescue: Zelle [email protected] or PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/CatHavenRescue
