BILLY WAYNE ETHEREDGE, 70, of Cypress, Texas, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020, in Katy, Texas.
He was born September 17, 1949, in Houston, Texas, the son of Willie Lee and Wanda Lee (Rivers) Etheredge. Billy grew up and attended schools in the Houston area, graduating from Aldine High School in 1968. After high school, he enrolled in aircraft mechanic school in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which later benefited him in his career.
Billy was united in marriage to Sherry Rose Stepanski, on October 9, 1971, at the Assumption Catholic Church in Houston. He was employed as a Computer Tech Mechanic for B&F Maintenance in Houston for fifty-years.
Billy enjoyed hunting, fishing, showing his 1969 Classic Chevrolet Camaro, playing blackjack and cheering on his grandchildren at the cattle shows. He also enjoyed traveling to various places with his family, and he especially loved going to the Frio River, Crested Butte in Colorado and the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas. Billy was a loving husband and daddy, but his greatest love was being “Pappy” to Rope and Kathrine. He would often say, “I only ever had 1 wife and 1 job” now that is something to brag about.
Billy is survived by his wife: Sherry Etheredge of Cypress; daughter: Tanya Marie Etheredge Jackson and her husband Matt, of Bellville; grandchildren: Rope Mewis Jackson and Kathrine Marie Jackson, both of Bellville; brothers: Jerry Etheredge and his wife, Dora, of Hempstead and Bobby Etheredge and his wife, Cindy, of Crowley, Texas; and numerous other relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Wanda Etheredge and sister, Mary Anne Etheredge.
Honorary Pallbearers are Matt Jackson, Rope Jackson, Tommy Stepanski, Carroll Machos, Bill Terpstra, Erwin Wieghat, Jerry Etheredge, Frank Tarbert, Lonnie Lischka, Bobby Jenkins, Mark Fox, Lee Etheredge and Jimmy Styers.
