BOBBY BUEL “BOB” FOX, 90, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021, in Bellville.
He was born December 13, 1930, in Roscoe, Texas, the son of Buel Gabbert and Wanda Rose (Schaffer) Fox. Bob grew up and attended schools in the Big Springs area, graduating from Big Springs High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Bob serviced his country and later enrolled at Texas A&M University, graduating in 1952 with a bachelor’s degree in business. He was employed as a Comptroller for Texaco and Chevron for many years, before retiring.
Bob was united in marriage to Betty Sue Patton, on July 11, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas. They made their home in Bellville, where they were active members of the Bellville United Methodist Church. Bob was the founder of Mission Taxi with BUMC and was extremely passionate about all the people he served. He was a member of the 12
th
Man Foundation, and Association of Former Students of Texas A&M. He was a familiar face anytime you visited the church and was always there to lend a helping hand with a smile. Bob had a heart for anything Texas A&M and had a love for his church family. He enjoyed traveling, and all animals. Well-known to so many as “Bob” his love his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family the grandkids hung out with that called him their “Bussy”. He was a man with a huge heart, infectious smile, given character, and loved his Lord. He will be missed by many and will always hold a special place in the hearts of many.
Bob is survived by his daughter: Amy Fannett and her husband, Jack, of Bellville; grandchildren: Rob Lockett and his family; Lori Lockett Gaines and her family, Reese Lockett and his family, Hallie Lockett and her family, Sarah Burt and her family, and Kari Burt and her family; and numerous other dear family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buel and Wanda Fox, his wife, Betty Sue Fox, and daughter, Vicki Lockett.
Pallbearers were John Robert Engler, Evan Engler, Chad Payton, Matthew Reyes, Kenny Stephens and Jason Frost.
