BRENDA CROOK WALRAVEN died peacefully at her home, Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at the age of 75. She was born December 22, 1946, in Waco, Texas, the daughter of Jo Ed and Lorraine Martin Crook. Brenda grew up and attended schools in the Waco area, before moving to Midland then Houston. Later in 1976, she called Bellville home, where she worked for Texas Southeastern Gas Company many years with the “gang” she so dearly loved. After retiring from the gas company, Brenda owned and operated The Country Shop antique store for over 17 years. She was well-known in Bellville and never met a stranger. Brenda made herself many friends over the years, not only from living in the small quaint town, or working at the gas company, but her shop was one of the most visited ones in Austin County. When you walked in the door for whatever reason you went in for you would feel the comfort of being in the presences of family. She will be missed by many. Brenda is survived by her husband of over 39 years: Dennis Ottmer; daughter: Robyn Lowe and her husband, Barry; grandson: Chase Lowe; great-grandson: Camden Lowe; and many other family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kasia Zinz, parents, brothers, Joe Crook and Bruce Crook. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held later this month. A special note of thanks to her caregivers, Allumine Hospice, Life Changes Home Staffing, and Chaplain Jeff Barros. Brenda was blessed to receive the love and kindness from these very special people. Loss of A Friend Today, I lost a friend, But yet, it's not the end. It's sad being left behind, It really staggers my mind. A void is left to us that remain. She's reached a life, we've yet to attain. I question why did she die this way Struggle with sickness for many a day. Why did she suffer so? These are answers I'd like to know, But till then, I'll walk with Him. For I'll know the answer in the end.
