Calvin James Hartman, 75, of Palmer, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, in Waxahachie, Texas. Calvin was born December 4, 1946, in Sunnyside, Texas, to Gilbert and Maggie (Christopher) Hartman. He grew up in the Sunnyside and Hempstead area, graduating from Royal High School. Calvin was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Pattison, Texas. From 1966 to 1968, Calvin proudly served his country in the United States Army as an engineer in the tree crusher detachment during the Vietnam War. During his working years, Calvin was employed as a salesman of heavy equipment. He lived in several parts of Texas, including Lake Jackson, Freeport, and Longview, before making his home in Palmer. Calvin was a tinkerer and enjoyed working on projects. He was known for rebuilding used equipment and performing automotive paint and body work. He is survived by his significant other: Beverly Bosher of Scurry; son: Michael J. Hartman of Lake Texoma; granddaughter: Lauren Curfman of McKinney; grandson: Garrett Mayeaux of Frisco; and devoted friend: Tony Luker. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents: Gilbert and Maggie Hartman; and sisters: Joyce Smith and Eunice Stepan.
