Carlos M. Martinez

Carlos M. Martinez was born in Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico on November 4th, 1951 and passed away on March 4th of 2025 in Houston, Texas. He will reunite with his father, Dionicio Martinez, his mother Antonia Mendiola and his brothers, Adan Martinez, Armando Martinez and Ruben Martinez. He leaves behind his sisters Victoria Martinez, Bertha Lewis and Maria Guadalupe Martinez.

He is also survived by his beloved wife, Rosalva Martinez, whom he married on August 31, 1990 and his children Barbara Saenz, Elena Berenice Saenz, Luis Angel Saenz, Carlos Martinez Jr, Dionicio S. Martinez, Shelby Martinez and his grandchildren, Ali Bueno, Ariel Jaqueline Uribe, Bianca Guadalupe Uribe, Mia Fernanda Bueno, Eliot Saenz and Dante Dionicio S. Martinez.

Carlos and his family moved to the outskirts of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon when he was a young child, where he grew up and started Nursing School. In the early 80’s he moved the United States with his family to start a new life. During his youth and young adult life, he enjoyed dancing, family gatherings but most of all, playing soccer and watching his favorite team play.

Futbol, or Soccer was one of his great passions in life. He was a life-long fan of the Tigres from Monterrey. Every match was celebrated with excitement, and he proudly wore his team’s jersey with pride when it was time to watch “His Tigers”. At the Martinez Household, matches from the Mexican National Soccer Team were celebrated with loud cheers, food and the representation of our teams’ colors from all members of the family was a must! And Carlos was the heart of each celebration.

Carlos and Rosalva lived in Bellville for many years, until they moved to Sealy in 2008. They were members of Immaculate Conception Church where they attended mass regularly and often called it their second home.

During his last years, Carlos enjoyed his family to the fullest and for the last two years his youngest grandchild Dante, who sweetly called him ITO. Birthdays, Anniversaries, Christmases, Easters and Game Nights were holidays and family gatherings that he enjoyed the most.

He will be dearly remembered by all his family and friends with love and affection. The void he leaves behind in the lives of all, it’s testimony of his legacy of sacrifice, hard work and dedication to his family.
