CAROLYN LOUISE (HOLZFOERSTER) HOLOWAY, 83, of Waller, Texas, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019, at her home.
She was born May 25, 1936, in Covington, Kentucky, the daughter of John Henry and Helen Mae (Stephens) Holzfoerster. Carolyn grew up and attended schools in the Covington area, graduating from Covington High School. After high school, she enlisted in the United States Air Force. She served her country and was Honorably Discharged. Carolyn then moved to Houston, where she met the love of her life, Jack Holoway and they were married on July 28, 1958, in Houston. In 2000, Carolyn and Jack moved to Waller, where they made their home.
Carolyn was employed in the in the retail industry as a manager. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing slot machines, collecting dolls and making Barbie clothes to donate to the children at the Texas Children’s Hospital.
Carolyn is survived by her sons: Warren Holoway and his wife, Estelle, of Hempstead, Gary Holoway of Waller; daughter-in-law: Kay Holoway of Sealy; daughter: Donna Sue Holoway of Norman, OK; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister: Betty Hagan and numerous dear family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Holoway, son, Jack Lee Holoway, parents, John and Helen Holzfoerster, brothers, Howard Franke and Donald Franke, son-in-law, James Palmer and brother-in-law, Vernon Hagan.
