Cecilia Estela (Casanova) Verduzco, 83, of Brookshire, Texas, passed away on Sunday March 20, 2022.
Cecilia was born April 18, 1938, in Monterrey, Mexico to Oscar and Rebeca (Diaz) Casanova. She grew up in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Cecilia graduated from nursing school and she served as an intern at the Red Cross Hospital and Hospital Civil in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. On September 22, 1962, Cecilia was united in marriage to Manuel Verduzco in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Cecilia was a devoted catholic and a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Katy, Texas. Cecilia was a very strong, proud woman and took pride in raising a family of 8 by herself. Cecilia was very proud of herself. In her spare time, Cecilia enjoyed knitting, sewing, creating crafts, cooking, baking, and, above all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters: Thelma Garcia and husband, Alfonso, of Laredo, Magda Guerra and husband, Jose, Sr., of Brookshire, Maria Catalina Montejano and husband, Emelio, of Katy, and Cecilia Kucera and husband, Aaron, of Brookshire; sons: Efren Verduzco of Brookshire and Miguel Angel Perez of Laredo; grandchildren: Miguel Angel Perez, Jr., Issela, Leslie, Alejandra, Miguel, Manuel, Yamaly, Emiliano, Alfonso, Abelardo “Lalo”, Nelsey, Jorge, Alejandro, Erika, Vanessa, Brenda, Sara, Oscar, Angeline, Rebecca, Jessica, Diana, Jose, Jr., Misty, Paula, Jasmine, Rosie, Emelio, Jr., Cassandra, Fernando, Francisco, Micah, Emma, Melissa, Luis, and Sofia; many great-grandchildren; brother: Manuel Casanova; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Cecilia was preceded in death by her husband: Manuel Verduzco; parents: Oscar & Rebeca Casanova; and children: Leticia Verduzco and Oscar Manuel Verduzco.
