Celia Gage Hughes

CELIA GAGE HUGHES, 75, of Bellville, Texas passed away Friday, January 15, 2021, in Sealy, Texas.

She was born October 17, 1945, in Hillsboro, Texas, the daughter of Robert Ivy and Lena Belle (Norman) Gage.  Celia grew up and attended schools in Hillsboro, graduating from Richfield High School in 1964.  After high school, she attended Texas Tech University with a Teaching Certificate.  In 1971, Celia was united in marriage to Charles Hughes, at the Webster Presbyterian Church, in Webster, Texas.  They moved to Bellville and was a member of the Christian Faith Church, where she was highly active in the Prayer Ministry.  In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, loved red birds, reading and was a longtime member of the Community Bible Study.

Celia is survived by her son: Charles Steven Hughes and his wife, Christalyne, of Kyle; daughter: Holly Garrison and her husband, Bobby, of Modesto, CA; son: Robert Hughes and his wife, Bethany, of Bellville; grandchildren: Hannah, Donnie, Robby, Zoë, Harley, Abigail, Skilynn, Emily, Joshua, Matthew, Lucas and Jaxon; sisters: Patricia Greenshields of Houston and Ann Van Daly of Houston; brother: TR Gage and his wife, Sandra, of Hillsboro; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hughes, and parents, Robert and Lena Belle Gage.
