Christi Leigh "Chrisleigh" Derouen

Christi Leigh “ChrisLeigh” Derouen, 30, of New Ulm, Texas, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in Caldwell, Texas.

Christi was born on November 20, 1991, in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Troy and Lisa Derouen. She grew up in the Katy area and was a homeschool graduate. Christi furthered her education at Blinn College in Bryan with a focus on Veterinary Science and was previously employed as a veterinary technician. Christi had a passion for animals of all kinds. She volunteered at animal shelters and fostered many animals. Christi also enjoyed horseback riding and barrel racing.

She is survived by her parents: Troy and Lisa Derouen of New Ulm; sister: Leslie Wyers and husband, Riley, of Longview; brother: David Derouen of Katy; grandmother: Carolyn Brigham of Katy; grandfather: Doyle Leslie of Austin; nieces: Aubrey and Cassidy Wyers; nephew: Harlan Wyers; aunts: Cindy Leslie, Johnette Norman, and Nancy Brigham; uncles: Dru Derouen, Paul Brigham, Tony Brigham, Lance Leslie, and Kevin Leslie; and many friends.

Christi was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Winnie Derouen, and step-grandfather, Richard “Dick” Brigham.
