CRESPIN GONZALEZ, 88, longtime Brookshire resident, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017, at his home. Crespin was born July 24, 1929, in Weimar, Texas, to parents Jesus and Jesusita (Moreno) Gonzalez. At the age of 8, Crespin’s family moved to Brookshire. On January 27, 1952, Crespin was united in marriage with Sarah Garcia in Rosenberg, Texas. They have made their home in Brookshire where Crespin worked as a laborer at the rice dryer for 15 years. Never one to sit around the house, after his retirement, he enjoyed landscaping and keeping his hands busy. Crespin was a jokester. He loved visiting with people and he never met a stranger. Crespin is survived by his loving wife of over 65 years: Sarah Gonzalez of Brookshire; 3 daughters: Margaret Taylor and her husband, Robert, of Houston, Mercedes Gomez and her husband, Rick, o Brookshire, and Tina Barrett and her husband, John, of Humble; 8 grandchildren: Andrew Bennett, Daniel Bennett, Adrien Bennett, Joel Bennett, Morgan Brandon, Jake Barrett, Sarah Barrett and Jared Gonzalez. He is also survived by his great grandchildren: Devin Ruley, Alissa Ulyanova, Jonah Galvan Bennett, McKenna Brandon and Garrett Brandon. Crespin was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Jesusita Gonzalez, his son, Valentine Gonzalez, his brother Trinidad Gonzales and his sister, Guadalupe Torres.
