Dannis "Dan" Ray Walling

DANNIS RAY “DAN” WALLING, 76, of Sealy, Texas, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in Houston, Texas.

He was born December 7, 1947, in Houston, Texas, the son of Norman Louis and Emma Geneva Crawford Walling.  Dan grew up and attended schools in the Lubbock area, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1966.  After high school, he was drafted into the United States Army, serving his country from 1968 until honorably discharged in 1968.

Dan was united in marriage to Delores Darlene Howard, on April 12, 1969, in Lubbock, Texas.

In his spare time, Dan enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Making them smile was a priority in his life, constantly telling silly jokes to get the grin.  In his younger years, Dan loved spending time on the football field.  He was an excellent coach to many Texas athletes.  Dan was a well-respected man to many colleagues and players alike.  During his 25 years in the profession, he coached football and power lifting.  Dan also loved work.  He spent countless hours pouring into his company, Endzone Video Systems.  Developing and improving the end zone tower was his passion until the day he passed.

He is survived by his wife: Delores Walling of Sealy; children: Dana Qualls of Katy, Danny Walling and his wife, Teresa, of Katy, and Chad Walling and his wife, Ashley, of New Ulm; grandchildren: Layken Bovaird of Katy, Hannah Brown and her husband, Jay, of Katy, Shyenne Walling of Katy, Kinley Walling of Katy, Bry Qualls of Katy, Grant Walling of New Ulm, and Grace Walling of New Ulm; great grandchildren: Eveena Stevenson, and Tatum Brown; and numerous other family members and dear friends.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents: Norman and Emma Walling; grandchildren: Skyler and Tyler Bovaird; brothers: Carroll Walling, and Ronald Walling; sister: Brenda Sue Walling.
