Darren Dwayne Mensch, 34, of Kilgore, Texas, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016, in Longview, Texas. He was born January 18, 1982, in Pasadena, Texas, the son of Dwayne Mensch and Tracey Williams (Mensch) Powell. Darren grew up in the Pasadena area, attending Sam Rayburn High School.
He was employed as a carpenter in the construction industry, was a certified caregiver and a volunteer in his community. Darren enjoyed tinkering with old trucks, fishing, and creating music on his computer with his kids. He loved the Lord, had a passion for helping other and made a decision early in life to become an organ and tissue donor.
He is survived by his sons: Lyndon Dalton Mensch and Christian Lee Mensch, both of Kilgore; mother: Tracey Williams (Mensch) Powell of Houston and stepfather: Daniel Powell; sisters: Stephanie Mensch Hemphill and her husband Bryan Hemphill of Webster, Tracey Williams of Houston and Danielle Williams of Buda. Darren is also survived by his maternal grandparents: Shirley McGlothlin of Galveston and Phillip Williams of Huntington; paternal grandparents: Vernon and Ann Mensch of Bellville; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dwayne Mensch (2009).
