DENNIS PAUL LANDUA, 77, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022, in Houston, Texas.
He was born July 2, 1944, in Brenham, Texas, the son of Lespa C. and Adeline (Fuchs) Landua. Dennis attended St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg, Texas, where he was baptized and confirmed. He grew up in the Washington County area, graduated from Burton High School, and later earned a BS, MS, and PhD from Texas A&M University. Dennis served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a Staff Sergeant for the Fire Direction Center Artillery in support of the Fourth Infantry Division.
Dennis was united in marriage to Lola Schluens, on January 28, 1968, at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville, Texas. They made their home in Bellville, where he was Vice President of the Millheim Cemetery Association and an active member of Hermann Sons and St. John Lutheran Church, where he served as President and member of the Church Council and used his wonderful voice to sing with the gospel group and adult choir. He owned and operated a trucking company for 35 years and was a lifelong cattle rancher. In his spare time, Dennis enjoyed hunting, singing, playing guitar, watching sports, and spending time with his family and friends. He always made a special effort to attend every sporting event and competition involving his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed checking cattle with Lola every Sunday (“The Tour”).
Dennis was a hardworking man, a man of his word, a family man, and a loving husband, who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He was selfless and had a heart of gold. The kind of person most strive to be. He had the voice of an angel and was a true servant of God!
