Donna Rita Hopfe

Donna Rita Hopfe passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 5:20 am at the age of 85. She was at peace and was not in pain.

She had a very wonderful and full life. She loved her husband, loved her sons and she loved her grandchildren dearly. This is how she wanted to be remembered. We will miss her here, but we know she believed that Jesus died for all of our sins and she is now with Him.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dieter, parents Carl and Jewell Williams, brothers Beryl and Wayne and sisters Janelle and Dorothy. She is survived by her sister Gwen Turner, sons Michael and his wife Allison, Kurt and his wife Kristi and Christopher; and grandchildren Caitlin Hopfe, Will Hopfe, Elyse Hopfe and Amanda Hopfe; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was born in Lubbock, Texas November 4, 1935, and was the youngest of six children. She lived her childhood in the Lubbock area. She attended Lubbock High School and Texas Tech University.

While in her 20s, she began work as a radiology technician and met her future husband Dieter while living in Houston. She later worked as a legal assistant for a law firm and then as the church secretary for Memorial Lutheran Church in Katy.

Dieter and Donna were married August 12, 1961 and enjoyed more than 50 years of marriage and made their life in the Katy area, west of Houston.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church, most recently with Christ Lutheran Church in Pattison, Texas.
