Edith Ona "Edy" Mccoy

EDITH ONA “Edy” (SCHRAMECK) McCOY, 79, of Brenham, Texas, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024, with close family at her bedside. She was born January 26, 1945, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Authur Edwin and Lois Lorene (Bruner) Schrameck. Edy grew up and attended schools in the Okmulgee area. She was employed with Cameron Iron Works in the maintenance department. Edy was united in marriage to William Paul McCoy, in Houston, Texas, on June 1, 1961. They welcomed their children into the world soon after, raising them in Hempstead and New Ulm. Edy loved being a mom and cherished every moment with her family but spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren making each of them feel special was very dear to her. She was “Mawmaw” to the grandchildren and “Oma” to the great-grandchildren. She enjoyed antiquing, riding her bike, tending to her lawn, restoring antique furniture, singing and music, shopping, her daily Bible reading and Bible study, fluent in sign language, family gatherings, listening to radio talk shows, and was a mega Trump supporter. Edy is survived by her loving children: Steven McCoy, Douglas McCoy, Lyn McCoy, and Lori Lee McCoy; all of Brenham; children: Robert of New Mexico, and Donald (Don) of Magnolia; grandchildren: Steven, Jr., Samantha, Devon, Jessica, Shayann, Stefanie, Tanner, Lauren, Tommye, Taylar, Hayden, McKenzie, Ashley, Booke, Chrystal, Madelaine, and Donald, Jr.; special friend: Rose Mary Guerrero and her children; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family. She was preceded in death by her husband: William Paul McCoy; parents: Authur and Lois Schrameck; son: Tommy McCoy; grandsons: Mitchell Paul Northup and Donavon J. Cox; and granddaughter: Robynn Elizabeth Cox; sister: Sue Ann, Dora, and Darlene; and brothers: Larry, Eddie, and Ross Schrameck. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may make monetary donations to Grace Lutheran, Schmidt Funeral Home, or the Austin County State Bank towards funeral expenses.
