Edward Henry Krause, Sr.

Edward H. Krause, Sr., 86, of Industry, passed away, Thursday, June 8, 2017 in Brenham.  He was born on December 24, 1930, to Alvin and Emma (Heidemann) Krause, in Austin County, Texas. He attended school in Industry, and served in the U.S. Air Force obtaining the rank of Sergeant. He married Benolye Zettel on November 22, 1952 in Nelsonville, Texas. Edward was employed with Ripple Lumber for 29 years, owner of Eddie’s Metal Building Products for 17 years and Krause’s Café for 8 years. Served on the Board of Elders for the Nelsonville Brethren Church, holding the offices of Secretary and Treasurer. Was a board member of the Bellville ISD for 10 years, and served the Industry Volunteer Fire Department since 1951, receiving the Fireman of the Year Award in 1997. Served with the West End EMS for 13 years. A Charter member of the West End Lions having a perfect attendance for 39 years. Edward is survived by his wife Benolye Zettel Krause; children Shirley Krause Gross and husband Gary; son Edward Krause, Jr. and wife Lorinda. Grandchildren; Kevin Gross and friend Karen Marek, Crystal Gross Meissner and husband Jerrad, Spencer Gross and wife Samantha, Jake Krause and wife Shannon, Chelsea Pugh, Hayley Chapa and husband Joe. Great grandchildren; Elizabeth Gross, Kannon, Keagan and Korbyn Meissner, Paisley Gross, Kolby and Bryce Krause, Trinity and Ryleigh Pugh, Lauren Chapa, and Skylar Krause. Sisters, Lillie Mae Jones, and husband Tim; Marlene Zettel, and husband Alfred, Jr.; Darlene Schimara and husband James; brothers, Alan Krause, Wilfred Krause and wife Margie, and Alfred Krause and wife Joyce; sister in law, Ruth Zettel and brother in law, Eddie Pilcik.
