Edward John Gajewskey

EDWARD JOHN GAJEWSKEY , 96, of Pattison, Texas, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018, in Katy, Texas.

Edward was born October 17, 1921, in Wallis, Texas, the son of Frank and Albina (Orsak) Gajewskey.  His early years were spent in Wallis before the family moved to Mixville.  He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

Edward met the love of his life, Mildred Rosalie Sklenarik, at a dance at the Mixville Hall.  They were married on April 22, 1947, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy.  Edward and Mildred made their home in Pattison where they were members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Mildred preceded him in death on February 26, 2018, after 70 years of marriage.

During his working years, Edward was employed as a custodian at Royal ISD.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family.  He enjoyed watching western movies, riding both his tractor and his lawnmower, gardening and fishing.  And he was especially devoted to his faithful dog, Dude.

Edward is survived by his three daughters:  Carolyn Larsen of Sealy, Diane Peterek and her husband, Buddy, of Brookshire, and Detra Mazac and her husband, Wesley, of Sealy;  grandchildren:  Tiffany and Matt Sodolak of Fulshear, Christopher Peterek of Brookshire, Ashley Larsen of Missouri City and Drayton Mazac of Sealy.  He also leaves behind three great grandchildren:  Skylar Sodolak and Dashel Sodolak, both of Fulshear, and Zoe Walthall of Missouri City.  Edward was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mildred.
