Elroy Edgar Kiecke, loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2018 at the age of 88.
Elroy, the youngest of three boys, was born in Brenham to Albert and Bernadine Kiecke on November 26, 1929. After he graduated High School, Elroy attended Blinn College. He then put his education on hold and joined the Air Force where he served as a Staff Sergeant from 1951 to 1954. After the Air Force, Elroy attended Sam Houston State University where he earned his Masters of Business and met his wife of 61 years, Jeanette Kiecke.
Shortly after Jeanette and Elroy married, in 1956, they moved to Bellville, TX where they raised their three sons; Roy, Norman and Kenny. Elroy took a job as Business Manager of Bellville ISD so he could be close to his hometown of Brenham, TX. He then went on to serve as Bellville High School Principal where he was known as “Sneaky Kiecke”. After several years in public education, Elroy went on to pursue a career in insurance and was Senior Partner in Lynn Kiecke Lackey Insurance Group.
Elroy was an active member in the Bellville community serving in many capacities including:
• Longtime member of Bellville United Methodist where he held numerous board positions and taught Sunday School.
• Longest serving member of the Lions Club (58 yrs) and voted Citizen of the Year
• Director of San Bernard Electric Cooperative
• Director of Austin County State Bank
• Awarded Bellville Chamber of Commerce’ Good Neighbor
• Board of Trustees for Bellville Hospital Authority

Elroy poured his heart into creating “The Country” where his family and friends could make memories for years to come. From that point on, Papa spent every free minute he had clearing trails on the tractor, cutting wood for bonfires, working in his shop, and most recently creating a bridge that extended across the pond to an island.
He also cherished his coffee every morning at Newman’s Bakery with friends; dancing to country music; watching sports; reading; running; traveling with friends; and most importantly spending time with family.
Elroy is survived by his wife Jeanette; his sons Roy Kiecke and his wife Linda, Norman Kiecke and his wife Darcy, and Kenny Kiecke and his wife Diane; his grandchildren Jenny Becker and her husband Josh, Krista Hager and her husband Chad, Jeffrey Kiecke and his wife Leala, Chase Kiecke and his wife Brooke, Paige Huebner and her husband Garrett, Rhea Kiecke, and Kendal Kiecke; and his great grandchildren Jack Kiecke, Adeline Hager, Kate Kiecke, Henry Hager, and Hudson Huebner.
