Erlan "Rusty" Russell Chase, Sr.

Erlan “Rusty” Chase Sr., 67, of Sealy, Texas, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018, in Bellville.

He was born May 5, 1951, in Lewiston, Maine, the son of Wayland Leroy Chase Sr. and Melba (Jordon) Chase. Erlan grew up in Gray and New Gloucester, Maine, then moved to Sealy, Texas, in 1974. Erlan was united in marriage to Helen Maresh, on September 7, 1985, in Nelsonville, Texas. He was employed in the drywall construction industry. Erlan enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

Erlan is survived by his wife: Helen (Maresh) Chase of Sealy; daughters: Felicia Horsley and husband, Brian, of Somerville and Debra Chase of Sealy; son: Buddy Chase and wife, Faith, of Sealy; grandchildren: Owen Chase and Leah Horsley; sisters: Ellie Thurlow, Sharon Plummer, Bonnie Whyte, and Dolly Robinson; and brother: Waylon Leroy “Buddy” Chase. He was also survived by numerous other family members and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Pinky Stinchfield, Aletha Harriman, and Amy Oulette; and brothers: Bobby, Bucky, Kenny Chase and an infant brother.
