Esperanza "Mima" Maria Trevino-Purnell

ESPERANZA MARIA “MIMA” TREVINO-PURNELL, 48, of Cypress & Brookshire Texas, gained her angel wings at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 12, 2023

MiMa was born October 4, 1974, in Bellville, Texas, to Johnny Trevino and Irene Chavez Trevino.  Mima married her best friend, Willie Earnest Purnell on July 31, 2006.  MiMa and Willie proceeded to have three beautiful girls to love and cherish, Jamila DeMarie Purnell, Juanita Danya Purnell, and Janika Heaven Purnell.

MiMa was mainly a stay-at-home wife and mother. She worked retail when she could, but her girls were her greatest blessing and she cherished raising them and being a great mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. MiMa loved being a wife and mother. She loved her girls with all her heart and always put their needs above her own.  She loved being around her big beautiful extended family.  She grew up with plenty of cousins that were more like brothers and sisters.

MiMa was born deaf and started learning ASL very early on to communicate with her family.  This never was a handicap as she played and communicated with her family just fine and they with her.

She is survived by her husband: Willie E. Purnell; daughters: Jamila, Juanita, and Heaven; parents: Johnny Trevino & Irene Trevino; beloved sister: Melinda Trevino Chavez; nephew: Manual; nieces: Veronica, Marijane, and Mariah; as well as aunts, uncles, and countless cousins, who again were like brothers and sisters to her.

MiMa was preceded in death by her brother: Juan Trevino, Jr.; maternal grandparents: Juan & Mariana Chavez; and paternal grandparents: Gilberto & Vicenta Trevino.
