Eunice Elizabeth (Hartman) Stepan, 86, of Universal City, Texas, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 17, 2022.
Eunice was born on February 17, 1936, in Sunnyside, Texas, to Gilbert and Maggie Lee (Christopher) Hartman. She grew up in the Sunnyside area, attending school in Monaville, Texas with her best friend Betty Jean Stepan. On February 24, 1957, Eunice was united in holy matrimony to Roy E. Stepan in Pattison, Texas at Christ Lutheran Church. She spent her life enriching the lives of others, working as a volunteer at the local retirement home, as a food service cashier for Royal ISD, and as a customer service assistant at Hallmark Cards. Eunice remained steadfast in her faith as a member of the Lutheran church. In her free time, Eunice enjoyed reading and spending time with her relatives, especially her children, taking road trips with family across multiple states throughout her lifetime. Eunice is remembered as a kind, loving, and giving soul, who brought smiles and laughter everywhere she went – whether that was to work, to family reunions, or to field trips and school functions with her granddaughters.
She is survived by her husband: Roy Stepan of Universal City; daughter: Pamela Cobb and husband, Gary, of San Antonio; son: Randall Stepan of Converse; granddaughters: Andrea Toledo and husband, Lenin, of Selma, Heather Enochs and husband, Joel, of Canyon Lake, and Brandi Stepan of Devine; great-granddaughters: Olivia Toledo, Lillian Toledo, Evalynn Enochs, and Khalie Cochran; and brother: Calvin Hartman.
Eunice was preceded in death by her parents: Gilbert and Maggie Hartman; sister: Joyce Smith; and niece: Sharon Raymond.
