Flora B. (Schroeder) Wendt

FLORA B. (SCHROEDER) WENDT, 97, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017.  She was born July 2, 1919, in Rosenberg, Texas, the daughter of Willie and Edna (Bolten) Schroeder. Flora grew up in the Hallettsville area and attending school at Old and New Kinkler.  She moved from Hallettsville to Millheim and then to Bellville, which she called home.   Flora was united in marriage to Wilbert Wendt, Sr., on August 20, 1938, in Bellville, at the St. John Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed taking care of her family, quilting, sewing, gardening and taking short trips. Flora also enjoyed cooking and baking and was known by many for her delicious coffee cake.  The love and passion was being a wife, mother and a “Maw Maw”, to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Flora was a member of the Bellville United Methodist Church and Woodmen of the World.  She was also active in the quilting club.  Flora is survived by her daughter: Delores Parr and her husband, Gene, of Bellville; son: Wilbert Wendt and his wife, Freda, of Bellville; granddaughter: Debra Parr of Austin, Michelle Mitchell and her husband, David, of Waller and Tracy Corum and her husband, Cody, of Bellville. She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Justin, Dalton, Preston, Gunnar, Rustin, Lily, Ashley and Joshua; and brother: Elmer Schroeder and his wife, Ruth, of Houston and numerous relatives and friends.  Flora was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Wendt, Sr., parents, Willie and Edna Schroeder, four brothers, five sisters, granddaughter, Tammy Parr Cordes and grandson, Kevin Ellis Wendt.  Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to either the:1861 Pilgrims Rest CemeteryP.O.
