Gaines Arthur Robinson

GAINES ARTHUR “Art” ROBINSON, 86, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020, in Bellville.

He was born April 25, 1934, in Greenville, Alabama, the son of Rufus Byron and Melva Lee (McCrory) Robinson.  Art grew up in Alabama and moved to Houston in 1950, graduating from Galena Park High School in 1953.  He went to Victoria College on a basketball scholarship before enlisting in the United States Army in 1958.

Art was united in marriage to Marion Hasson, on May 9, 1975, in Anahuac, Texas.  He was employed as a coordinator in a chemical plant for forty-three years.  In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing in Smith Point and had a love for cooking, dancing and the Astros.

Art is survived by his wife of over 45 years: Marion Robinson of Bellville; daughters: Teresa Howard and her husband, Darrel, of Bellville, Brenda Follansbee, and her husband, Jeff, of Arizona, and Cathy Wilke of Houston; sister: Robbie Pfeffer of Smith Point, TX; grandchildren: Kristin Nguyen, Clark Follansbee, Blake Follansbee, Teralynn Howard, Sierra Howard, and Darrel Howard; great-grandchildren: Julian Nguyen, Kynli Nguyen, and Ophelia Follansbee; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
