Gary Lee Pierce

January 21, 1949 — November 30, 2023

Gary Lee Pierce, 74, of Brookshire, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 30, 2023.

Gary was born on January 21, 1949, to Howard and Lula (Marrison) Pierce in Lansing, Michigan. He grew up in Lansing where he attended Everett High School. Gary then served as a weapons infantryman in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. In 1980, Gary moved to Houston, Texas, and, in 1999, he made his home in Brookshire. On July 6, 2007, Gary was united in marriage to Chong in Brookshire, Texas. They were members of the First Baptist Church of Brookshire.

Gary was a construction superintendent most of his adult life, either as an independent general contractor or as an employee of a construction company.  He was also a traveling superintendent for 7 years working across the country from coast to coast, accompanied by Chong who worked alongside as his carpenter foreman/superintendent.

When he “retired” from the road, he started building custom cedar furniture.  It started as a hobby and quickly became a family business. Gary was creative.  He was also known to build computers and design stores and buildings using architecture programs.

Most importantly though, Gary accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. He did so a little later in life, but his faith grew quickly and became strong and unshakable.

He is survived by his wife: Chong Pierce of Brookshire; beloved Pomeranian: Happy; sister: Sharon Pierce Kollhoff of Charlotte, MI; brother: Rob Pierce and wife, Barb, of Brutus, MI; and numerous family members, friends, neighbors, and loving church family.

Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Lula Pierce, and sister, Carole.
