Gerald Ellis Gardner, 73 of Sealy, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018 in Bellville, Texas. He was born on April 23, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois, to Fred Chris Gardner and Margaret Elizabeth (Shelton) Gardner. He was employed with the Sealy ISD as a bus driver.
Gerald had been a bus driver for the Bellville ISD for 5 years and for the Sealy ISD for 6 years. A man of God, Gerald was a great father, and grandfather. He married Alice Hannan on May 22, 1971 in Chicago, Illinois. As an Evangelist he established his own church years ago. He was a member of the Professional Bowling Association, and a mechanic. He loved his computers and loved his family.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Alice of Sealy. Daughters; Dawn Maines of Sealy, and Nancy Gardner- Barnett and her husband Michael of Kenny. Grandchildren; Travis Sontag, Brandon Sontag, Amanda Townsend, Joseph Barnett and Koda Barnett. Brothers; Larry Gardner and wife Kathe of Magnolia; Fred Gardner of San Antonio, Donn Gardner, Wayne Gardner, and his wife Wendy. and Brett Gardner. Sisters; Kathleen Altmayer, Evelyn Dawson, Carolyn Balsomo, Anne Michelletto, Debbie Gruziecki and Linda Cornfield. Son in Law; Russell Sontag. Brother and sister in law; John and Jerry Tramutolo; sister in law; Gladys Plavik. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Laurie Gardner Harris; grandson Jason Maines, great grandson Brayson Kade Schumacher and a sister in law Marion Collins.
