GLADYS M. ROSE, 90, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2020, in Bellville.

She was born June 18, 1930, in Columbus, Texas, the daughter of Willie Grey and Mary (Pilsner) Rose.  Gladys grew up and attended schools in the Columbus area, graduating from Columbus High School.  She was an employee at the Colorado County Courthouse and later worked as an Executive Secretary for The Oxy Oil and Gas Company in Houston.

In her spare time, Gladys enjoyed tending to her plants, painting, reading, and doing crossword puzzles.  She was known to many as “the cat lady.”

Gladys is survived by her daughter: Susan Severin and her husband, Warren, of Cat Spring; granddaughters: Holly Monk and her husband, Tommy, of Cat Spring, Laura Wieprecht and her husband, Brent, of Bellville; Katie Purser and her husband Jon, of Natalia, and Amanda Garvin and her husband, Jon, of Conroe; great-grandchildren: Hayden, Cami, Carter, Parker, Piper, Anna, Leah, Angel, Grady, William, Wyatt, Caden, and Linkin; sister: Jean Scheetz of Galena Park; sister-in-law: Joyce Rose of Waco; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Mary Rose, three brothers, James Rose, Alvin Rose and Larry Rose, sister, Betty Banks.
