Harry Neal Walthall

April 26, 1938 — August 19, 2016

Harry N. Walthall "Poppy", 78 of Brookshire, Texas, passed to his eternal home on Friday, August 19, 2016. Harry was preceded in death by both of his parents, James Harrison and Bessie Viola Weaver Walthall, and four brothers, James, Melvin, Charles and Wayne R. Walthall, and two sisters, Dorothy "Dot", and Louise, and grandson Tyler Caraway. Harry honorably served this country in both the U.S. Army National Guard from 1955-1956 and the U.S. Army from 1956-1982. After retiring from military service, Harry was employed as the Comptroller for Central Texas College in Killeen, Texas. Afterward he also worked as a CPA for the Texas Department of Health in Austin, Texas. Harry leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary Stinson Walthall; his three sons, Christopher Walthall and his wife, Martina, Timothy Walthall, and Anthony Walthall, as well as his adored grandchildren, Christina Cubbage and husband Cody, Jessica Walthall, Ashley Collins and husband Ryan, Lauren Walthall, Austin Walthall, Gina Simpson, Ashley Wood, Patrick Walthall and Victorio Walthall; as well as three treasured great-grandchildren, Lilian Walthall, Lucas Walthall, and Ethan Jentzen-Walthall. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and other family and friends who will miss him greatly. All funds from this account will be shared with the Alzheimer''s Foundation, The American Cancer Society, and Veterans'' Support Services. Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, located at 11463 TX-195 in Killeen, Texas, with full military honors by the National Honor Guard.
