Ida Lee Stump Johnstone

Ida Lee Eckelkamp Stump Johnstone, 99, of Bellville, Texas, passed peacefully from this life to the next at her home on November 22, 2024.

She was born on September 1, 1925, in Electra, Texas, to William and Clara Mengwasser Eckelkamp.

She grew up in the Rio Grande Valley where she graduated from high school.

Ida worked as a secretary most of her life in the insurance industry.

She is survived by her daughters: Ellen Calle and husband Bill of Raleigh, North Carolina, Sharyn Supak and husband Billy of Bellville, Texas, Judy Newton and husband Norman of Bellville, Texas; and her son: Gary Stump and wife Mary Beth of Boerne, Texas; sister: Berneice Nittler of Donna, Texas; brother: Jesse Eckelkamp of Austin, Texas; 10 grandchildren and spouses; 24 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands: Eugene Stump and Clarence Johnstone; her parents: Bill and Clara Eckelkamp; 2 stepchildren; and sister: Dorthea.
