IRIS LAVERNE (GOODE) BRUNKENHOEFER, 87, of Pattison, Texas, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 21, 2017. Iris was born December 6, 1929, in Waller County, Texas, to parents Henry and Pauline Minnie (Schumacher) Goode. A lifelong resident of Waller County, Iris graduated from high school in Pattison, Texas. On March 22, 1947, Iris married Leslie John Brunkenhoefer in Rosenberg, Texas. They have made their home in Pattison and have been members of the Christ Lutheran Church. Iris was employed by Fort Bend Telephone Company in Brookshire and Katy as a switchboard operator for several years. She later worked as secretary for the family owned business Fumigators Supply for 43 years. Iris had a green thumb and loved her plants and flower beds. She enjoyed playing dominoes, going dancing and hosting BBQ’s for her family and friends; and she especially loved listening to Les play music. Nannie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Iris is survived by her husband: Leslie John Brunkenhoefer of Pattison; son: John W. “Bubba” Brunkenhoefer and wife, Tina, of Sealy; daughter: Paula Elaine Brunkenhoefer of Pattison and Frank J. Mozola, III of Simonton; daughter-in-law: Sandra Faye Brunkenhoefer, also of Pattison; grandchildren: Steven W. Brunkenhoefer of Chappell Hill, Shanna B. Sliman and husband, Samir, of Pattison, Britt B. Smith and husband, Dustin, of Fairchild, and Brandi B. Kuecker and husband, Russell, of Bellville; and great grandchildren: Elizabeth and Cole Sliman, Brooke, Alexis and Cassidy Smith, and Braeden Kuecker. Also surviving Iris is her brother: Kenneth H. Goode, Sr. of Canyon Lake, California; sisters: Shirley Ledsinger of Pattison and Mary Ann Caughman and husband, Tracy, of Boone, North Carolina; special friend: Johnny Peterek of Brookshire; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Pauline Goode, her brother, Conrad Carroll Goode, and her son, Raymond L. “Skeete” Brunkenhoefer.
