Jamelyn "Jamie" Ocanas Stokes

JAMELYN NICOLE STOKES, 35, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021, in Katy.

She was born September 27, 1985, in LaGrange, Texas, the daughter of Eddie Ocanas and Karen Jean Menefee Ocanas.  Jamie grew up and attended schools in the Rosenberg area, graduating from Terry High School and later graduating from Everest University.  She was employed as a facility administrator for Oak Haven Assisted Living in Industry. She was united in marriage to Leroy Stokes, in Bellville, Texas, on September 30, 2004. Jamie enjoyed reading in her spare time.

She is survived by her husband: Leroy Stokes of Sealy; mother: Karen Ocanas of Sealy; father and stepmother: Eddie and Mary Lou Ocanas of Shelby; sisters: Juliana Orduna and her husband, Daniel, of Bellville, Jeni Ocanas of Bellville, and Aderes Ocanas of Shelby; brother: Aiden Ocanas of Shelby; nieces and nephews: Briana Orduna, Nova Hill, Daniel Orduna, and Jayden Orduna; and other relatives and friends.

Jamie was preceded in death by her grandparents: Frank and Betty Menefee, and Gregorio and Rebecca Ocanas.
